Susanne Wohlmacher, born in 1961, grew up in Mainz and received her first musical education from her mother. She studied at the Music Academy in Stuttgart, with flute and piano as her main subjects. Already as a student she became a member of “ensemble avance” for contemporary chamber music and performed with them for 10 years in concerts and at various German radio stations. She has been principal flautist with the Essen Philharmonic since 1986, and has performed numerous solo pieces with the orchestra. In addition, she has lectured at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen from 2001 until 2011. In recent years she has also been active as chamber music pianist and voice accompanist.
Carsten Linck studied at the Folkwang Music Academy in Essen with Professor Hans Gräf, and at the Robert Schumann Academy in Düsseldorf with Professor Maritta Kersting. Simultaneously, he studied
chamber music in Essen with Professor Iwona Salling and completed that study with distinction. Professor Karl Scheit in Vienna and Professor Per-Olof Johnson in Malmö contributed additional
artistic ideas. Carsten Linck has won several prizes with a youth orchestra and won first prize at the Bubenreuth International Music Competition. In 1992 he received the Cultural Award of the
City of Essen for his work.
Working with vocalists and instrumentalists, he has guest-starred extensively with concert tours and lieder recitals in all important cultural centers in Germany and the rest of Europe. In
addition to being invited for radio and television productions, he performed on a total of 15 CDs for Orfeo International, Amphion Records, Signum and ARS Produktion.
Together with Thomas Hanz he is the artistic director and organizer of the Guitar Festival-Ruhr, which takes place annually in September and October in various venues of the Ruhr area. At this
time Carsten Linck lives in Manila/Philippines where he works as private lecturers and music coach. In addition to invitations to international guitar festivals as guest professor, he is active
as producer and recording manager for several Philippine musicians and ensembles.
